Painting gives me peace. I was born and raised in Alaska, which fostered my love for the outdoors and its abundant beauty. Surrounded by inspirational scenery, I continually expressed myself through the visual and performing arts as I grew up. Still, I maintained a true desire for creating and witnessing art. While traveling throughout South America, I became deeply inspired to paint the scenery I witnessed.

Reaching my canvas, the creative process is fueled by memories and photographs, reliving the mental pictures and sharing my impressions of the world with others. Combining select photos from my travels is always an exciting way to begin my work.
